Saggy eyelids can happen to anyone over time. Sometimes occurring to people at a young age, saggy eyelids usually give the impression of old age, or indicating a sad appearance.  Blepharoplasty is the removal of excess tissue surrounding the eye to reshape the upper or lower eyelids, and is performed under local anesthesia by incising along the skin lines of the eyelids.  Some of the factors affecting a blepharoplasty procedure include the anatomy of the eyelids, skin quality and age of the client. After the procedure, swelling and bruising may occur for the initial 2 weeks; however it may take several months to achieve the desired final result.  A consultation with Dr. Bengezi will provide you with additional information regarding the surgery, what to expect, and the recovery and follow-up stage.
